About Berlin 2.0
"The woman who has all ocean inside her eyes –like those boats inside of bottles, I never understood how they do it- asked me to write a few words about my exhibition. Well, it is quite difficult to explain something about your own ‘artwork’. I only can say that if anybody wants to know where, when or why I took these pictures, I couldn’t answer it. I’m interested in the present, not in the past. The postcards are the past, and I don’t like the postcards. I had been in Berlin with my camera a few times before I decided to move. When I am on the way –in fact the way itself is the project of my artistic career- I really love not to use any map. I hate maps / I love to be lost when I arrive somewhere. Maybe, because the real love only exists at the first look and after that, when the surprise is finished (¿1/125, 1/8, B shutter speed…later?), you can’t get anything more. Photography is like poetry: everyone must find the accent to express a beautiful image or, at least, to draw all that no one saw before with a camera or with a pen - it’s the same. However, sad but real, when you get it, that image won’t exist anymore. So, don’t ask to me where, when or why I found this or that inspiration, it doesn’t matter. I found it on the way, that’s all. Enjoy with me, then, these pictures that we won’t see again. We are living already in Berlin 2.0..
